30 Days of Gratitude: Day 28

God Never Takes Away A Calling

This morning, we had the privilege to have Heirborn Promise with us. Heirborn Promise has been doing music ministry for over 40 years. The trio is made up of Darlene (my second cousin) and Brett Scott, and their friend Kevin Shreve. The three of them helped kick off our Advent season.

During their ministry this morning, my cousin, Darlene, talked about their journey and how she got to a point asking God if they were supposed to continue or if their ministry was complete. She said,”God doesn't’t take away a calling he has place.” I have been struggling as of late, having moments of wondering I was still meant to do what I was doing. I needed her message this morning.

They went on to sing a song they wrote years ago called Grace Lives Here. This song is about the journey of finding Jesus and understanding his grace. As we enter this season of Advent, let us never forget the grace that comes with our faithful relationship with the Triune God. Christ wants your heart. It’s all he has ever wanted. Live and learn in hope. The hope of the promises he will fulfill, the hope in his second coming, and the hope that no matter what you ate going through, he is always present!

Grace lives here, he heard her say. As she put her hand to her heart, and wiped her tears away. There was a peace, a calmness now, that settled in that place. It’s amazing, how God leads us to grace.
