Day 24

Last night, the town of Westernport came together to welcome in the holiday season. The amount of people that came out in the wind and cool temps was inspiring.
Children had an opportunity to count down to the tree lighting. Adults annoyed conversations with neighbors and friends. A blessing was prayed for Thanksgiving and the Christmas season. Churches and other organizations came together to offer goodies for all ages. This community, 7 months ago ravaged with a flood, could not have imagined we would be able to celebrate with our “normal” traditions. We celebrate and offer gratitude for where we are, knowing many in our community still have a ways to go.
For one night, we were able to forget about the hard times and celebrate joy.
Day 25

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who brings forth bread from heaven and the fruit of the vine. I lift each person to you on this Thanksgiving. Not everyone has the ability to be around a table with their families. For those who are alone, may they feel a warm hug surrounding them. For our troops serving overseas, may they feel gratitude for their sacrifice. For those dealing with natural disasters, may they feel the comfort and support of their neighbors. For those dealing with loss, may they have an opportunity to share fond memories. For those first responders and medical professionals who are working, may their efforts to care for others never go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Bless us this day, that we never forget to be grateful for your gift of sending you son. Thank you for paying a debt for my life that I can never repay. Guide my heart that I may be the follower and disciple you have called me to be. Mold my heart, O Great Jehovah, that I learn and grown Inna way that shows your love and kindness, mercy and grace, to all I meet. Amen.
