Israel Attacks: Yet Another Example of Why Unity Can't Exist

Many who are reading this post have been paying attention to the news surrounding Israel. If you haven't, let me give you the snapshot. Just after dawn on Saturday morning, Palestinian militants were able to get through the barricades between Gaza and Israel, gunning down hundreds of Israelites while abducting others. They purposely waited until the Israelites were celebrating in a festival before attacking so they would be distracted. According to the New York Times, "About 700 Israelis were killed and at least 150 taken hostage by Palestinian militants, according to a preliminary assessment shared by a senior Israeli military official. The assault, staggering in its scale, prompted a fierce counterattack from Israel that has killed at least 413 Gazans in missile strikes and gun battles, according to Gazan health officials." CBS reports, "Israeli officials confirmed on Wednesday that at least 1,200 Israeli civilians and members of the military had been killed. Another 2,700 were wounded, an IDF spokesperson said Wednesday. The White House has reported 14 U.S. Citizens have been killed in these attacks." Children and infants are being seized, and beheaded in front of their parents, with the parent being killed immediately after.

What Is Hamas?

Hamas is a militant group that started in the late 1980s and is seen as a sector of the Muslim Brotherhood. CNN describes Hamas as the following: "The word “Hamas” is itself an acronym for “Harakat Al-Muqawama Al-Islamiyya” – Arabic for Islamic Resistance Movement." This particular group wants nothing to do with Israel, looks at Israel as an illegitimate state, and thinks that Israel is trying to liberate Palestinian territories. The U.S. State Department labeled Hamas a terrorist organization in the late 1990s. This organization has claimed responsibility for many suicide bombings and other heinous attacks on Israel with their adamant goal of annihilating Israel.

Why Unity Can't Exist

I don't know how many times people need to watch history repeat itself before we as a human race wake up and realize that we are destroying each other. How many times do we need to watch war break out and watch people be full of power and authority over a sickening hatred of another culture or way of life before we realize that we don't need scientific theories of natural selection to be spewed from the mouths of people? It isn't a theory. Darwinism isn't a viable theory. Natural Selection isn't a theory. Why do I claim that you may ask? Natural selection is a simple mechanism that causes populations of living things to change over time. There isn't a mechanism. There is just one thing: choice. A mechanism doesn't cause someone to decide to wipe out an entire culture; evil does.

Humanity has changed so much over the centuries. The last three decades have seen a change so disturbing, yet it seems that a large majority brushes the actions of others under a rug and follows it up by, "It is no different than (insert previous event)." It is different. Why is it different? The human race has a history to learn from yet the egotistical desire to be supreme in all things has created hatefulness towards anyone who is not exactly like our person. This "new" war between Hamas and Israel is a blatant slight against the Judaic people and a country filled with a heritage stemming back thousands, upon thousands of years. What is even worse, I look around at the way our country, the United States, is responding to it and I want to be the first person to go around and Gibb-Smack some folks.

The United States is at the most divided it has been since the Civil War. We have different groups in this country who scream at the Christ-following community (literally scream at the top of their lungs) for speaking of one's faith. This same group that will just scream in one's face will be the group that says they are inclusive and all people should be accepted. How do you not see how impressively hypocritical you are in your actions and words? I am not saying that everyone in the Christ-following community is a good person living according to the teachings of our Holy Scriptures. There are a whole lot of bad apples in the bunch. I am not saying everyone in other groups is the same as the ones choosing to act a fool. What I am saying is that hypocrisy runs deep in humanity. As I was writing this piece, I came across several articles that showed a chapter of BLM is under fire for posting support of the Hamas attacks against Israel.

"Black Lives Matter Grassroots stands in solidarity with our Palestinian family who are currently resisting 57 years of settler colonialism and apartheid. As Black people continue the fight to end militarism and mass incarcerations in our own communities, let us understand the resistance in Palestine as an attempt to tear down the gates of the world's biggest open air prison," the statement said. "As a radical Black organization grounded in abolitionist ideals, we see clear parallels between Black and Palestinian people."

Terrorist organizations thrive on the same wants and needs that Satan had before he got himself escorted out of the heavenly realm. Before the fall of Satan, he was higher up in the heavenly realm, part of the musicians. He decided he wanted to be equal to God and managed to manipulate 1/3 of the heavenly realm to join him. His departure sent him to a place he could use as a playground to corrupt people in order to gain control. Hamas doesn't realize that they are actually falling into the trap and continuing the plans set in place by Satan.

Satan worked early on through the Egyptian Pharaohs to try and eliminate the Israelite nations because he knew that the future Messiah was supposed to come through the Israelites. SATAN KNEW JESUS EXISTED!!! Jesus existed before he was sent to earth, and SATAN KNEW THIS. Pharoah tried to destroy the people through hard labor, ordering the midwives to kill the Hebrew male babies, and then ordering all male baby Israelites to be thrown into the Nile. Fast forward to the Messiah coming. What did Satan do, he tried to kill him during birth. Revelation 12:4, "Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth so that it might devour her child the moment he was born." Satan participated in the death and resurrection of Christ. Satan continues to fight to eliminate the army of God.

Unity will never be a viable option for how the human race operates until all people decide that their pride and ego should be set aside in order to work for the common good of ALL people. Not one group of people on this planet is more important than another, and yes, that includes the Christ-followers. My life as a pastor, spiritual caregiver, and disciple of Jesus Christ does not matter more than another life. People need to wake up. All generations need to come down off their pedastal and learn to love one another.
